Really, I didn't understand a lot f about the movie. It was very difficult for me, but I will try to answer in the way that I understood.
The Luke's smile, I think it was the most important thing, because that represents freedom and although he was in the jail or in troubles there, he always smiled and tried to guide his friends for the same road. On the other hand, he never gave up trying to scape of the jail and that shows that having conviction, people can get everything that they want. In my opinion, that was the best.

ReplyDeleteWhat a perceptive comment--you're right, Luke's smile was very central to the movie, in some ways just as central as his acts of disobedience. How would our perceptions of him changed if he had been a sullen anti-hero instead of a buoyant one?
